Georgia Officer Hit by Own Cruiser
A DeKalb County Police Officer is now said to be in good condition after he was hit by his own patrol car. Officer Dwight Green was initially listed in serious condition. Police say he was helping a stranded driver around 1:00 a.m. Sunday, in a median along I-285 near Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.
An SUV traveling at a high rate of speed hit the patrol car causing it to hit Officer Green.
Police say both Green and the driver of the SUV, only identified as a 54 year old, were taken a local hospital.
The SUV’s driver now faces 4 charges for, following too closely, reckless driving, DUI, and violating the “move over” lane requirement. No word on his condition.
