I sincerely hope that the .327 mag fairs better than the H&R mag.

yes there is no big deal about a six shooter in medium to large frame revovers. the big deal is that you can have six man stopping rounds in a small frame revolver. note to john nau who posted above. this round will kill the largest of men on pcp. i promise. lights out.

I think that the .327 Federal Magnum is the future. It has more power than the .38 and more muzzle velocity than the .357.

A Gun chambered in .327 Federal Magnum will also fire .32 ACP .32 S&W .32 S&W Long .32 H&R Magnum making five different round’s usable in one Gun. The beauty here is that target practice with the lower powered rounds will keep you from soaking your hand in a bucket of ice after a day of shooting.

The price of the .32 ammo will probably come down if popularity gains for this round.

None of the 32 cal. ammo is cheap. After considering availability and cost of ammo for a .327 magnum revolver, I have decided to continue using my 357mag/38spcl. A variety of 38 special ammo is available and the price is not prohibative. I use Federal P38MA rounds for home defense, 130 gr. FMJ for target, and 357 JHP for outdoors carry. A 327 magnum would be nice for the Misses but she can continue to use my Bersa Thunder Ultra Compact 9 mm with C9BP loads for defense.

Art,

Ruger has not announced anything, but you are right. The 327 in a single six would make for a nice small game gun.

Does anyone know if Ruger is planning on chambering the Single Six in 327 mag.? This caliber combo sounds like a great small game gun.

I'm a SP101 357 Mag owner 2.5", and I've been reading up on the 327 Mag. If your a recoil sensitive person I could see going with the 327 Mag for a SD firearm or back-up. For me personally it's doesn't work , as I enjoy shooting my SP 101 357 and the recoil is no problem! To me the 357 Mag give more versatility as for as bullet wt's. Definately better performace. Now if and when this cartridge makes into a lever gun then I might reconsider it as it would make a great plinker/varmit gun.

I purchased one of these some months back, and FINALLY laid my hands on some ammo. I must say, I was sceptical, but thought it might be worth a try and hopefully actually performs as claimed. Well, after test firing into wet phone books, it achieved an honest 18" of penetration, and bullet performance was that typical of a large bore magnum. Accuracy was very good. Impressed? Yes indeed-I have no doubt this round will do very well-I hope the non-believers out there will give it a chance. Finally, we have a TRUE 32 caliber MAGNUM!

I bought this gun in March. I liked it a lot until the ejection rod jumped the track and I had to send it back to Ruger. It's been a month and I have not gotten it back. I put about 400 rounds through it. The full power magnum rounds were a bit hard to extract unless you keep the cylinder pretty clean. Accurate and fun to shoot in .32 H&R, .32 Long, and .32 S&W. The lower power federal hydra-shok in .327 magnum were easy to shoot. The full power stuff is a bit snappy, but very accurate.

i recently bought a .327 and it is a great light gun to shoot but the rounds are expensive. i would rather take a .22 or .38 spl. out for fun

I wonder what the big surprise is about being able to load 6 shots into the .327 magnum vise 5 rounds into the .38 Special or .357 Magnum. Doesn't anyone remember the term' "six shooter". They are not uncommon and I have and have had several 6 shot revolvers in the aforementioned calibers. WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL???

Taurus needs to return to the 3" barrel length. I tried to tell them a couple years ago. The extra inch does not reduce concealability but adds to the ballistic performance, of .22 mag or .327 mag. But 3" is definitely more concealable than 4". I will NOT buy a .22 mag or .327 mag. with a 2" barrel.

The new Federal .327 Mag sounds nice - and the SP101 is great as well - I own one. Yes it only has 5 shot capability for .357Mag, .38 Sp, & 38Sp.+ and is a pleasure to shoot, yes six rounds might be better than 5. However I also own a couple S&W's and a Titianum Tauraus 7 shot that will also handle all the above .38 & 357 loads, and it is only 25 oz's loaded. Now the 158 grain .357 mags will jolt me a bit and I do have to give my hand a rest after 50 - 75 rounds but that is acceptable. I can always switch to one of my other firearms the 1911, or the CZ .40 to rest up for the next round of .357 mag. shooting.

As a new gun owner it might be great starter pistol option however I already own many weapons and do not see the justification of $20.00 for 20 rounds as smart. Yet one could also choose the Taurus 22 Mag 8 shot revolver that has almost no recoil and if you are defending yourself against only humans it is more than sufficient to use for self defense, and it has 8 shots available.
However in the wilderness especially in bear country I want nothing less that a .44 ma.
