[...] Massad Ayoob wrote about a holsterless waistband carry method in 19th century Mexico that let the civilian vaquero ditch his handgun, at the approach of the mistrusted Federales, without wearing the incriminating holster and belt. It was called “Mexican Carry” and is not derogatory.
I'm a great admirer of Ayoob, but this book BADLY needs an updated edition. It came out roughly 30 years ago, long before the CCW revolution, Airweight guns, even Glocks. I know Mas is a busy man, but dang, I wish he'd take a couple months out to bring his first important book into the 21st century.
