I have noticed that many times you can observe the drivers torso and hands in the passenger side mirror as you approach, Check it out next passenger side contact.

You are absolutely right. I am a strong proponent to the passenger side approach for the simple reasons you mentioned. I was even complimented on my approach by a passenger in a car I stopped.

It can save your life in more then one way i.e. The non attentive driver who answers the cell phone or the driver of the car you stopped who has other intentions.

The relative feeling of safety from most traffic is SO much better with passenger approach stops. It also tends to trick the driver, if they are waiting for you to get up to their driver's window with any negative intention, you slow their reaction time and give yourself more by using it.

I'm glad you're ok bud. Stay safe.
