Last year, I wrote about The Backup Corporation: a CD-based, law enforcement training provider that offered free courses that could also earn you college credit.
Unfortunately, the grant funding for The Backup Corporation has run out. As of September 1, 2008, a fee of $15 will be charged for each course you wish to take. I feel the fee is reasonable for the training you receive, however, it will no longer be the incredible steal it once was!
So, if you are considering taking some of their courses, you might want to sign up before the price increase hits.
Stay safe!

Trying to contact The Backup Corporation with no luck. We have several of the training cds, however not sure if they are still of value for Missouri P.O.S.T. credits.
Appreciate any input you can provide. Thanks, Sam
Hi Sam,
I don’t know if they are still good for POST credit. You may want to contact Missouri for that info. Ominously, I was not able to get onto the Backup Corp’s website, so I don’t know if they are having problems. Good luck and stay safe!

Looks to be a good website for law enforcement professionals.
The Backup Training Corp was shut down Nov 2009 and stopped accepting any completed courses in Feb 2010.
Mike,
Thanks for the update. I was afraid something like that had happened.

If anyone knows of a way to get credit for the CDs already purchased please let me know
Sam do you have any Back Up corp CD’s that you would like to get rid of or give away?
Hi Marcus,
I wish I did. If someone has a contact with the former company, I’d appreciate an introduction. Maybe we could work out something with their old training materials.

The company did close. I have some training that you may find helpful that I received from the company.
