gun cleaningSeriously, when IS the last time you pulled “trusty Rusty” from the holster and gave it a good cleaning?  Last month?  Last year?  Ever?

As cops, we walk around in all sorts of dirty environments and in all of the elements.  This past week, my Sig has been sprayed with salt water and been subjected to multiple downpours.  Where has your pistol gone?

We never want to walk into a gunfight, but it is a part of the job.  And if you expect to win that confrontation, your firearm better be in top working condition.  Most of us are carrying autoloaders, and keeping them cleaned and oiled is very important if you don’t want to clear a malfunction in a firefight.

If you can’t recall when you last cleaned your gun, take a few minutes before heading in to the job and clean it.  Your life depends on it!

Stay safe!
