Center Mass Patrol Rifle Magazine Pouch
ByCenter Mass, Inc. has an ingenious pouch for AR-15 magazines that attaches to your duty belt behind your pistol mag pouch. The Patrol Rifle Integrated Magazine Pouch ensures you always have an additional rifle mag with you, without the need for strapping anything else to your rifle.
Let’s face it, mag couplers can get heavy when holding a rifle on a subject for a long period of time. The pouches that strap to the rifle’s buttstock can come loose, and they can get in the way if you transition between shoulders to work around corners and cover.
The integrated mag pouch simply goes between your regular pistol magazine pouch and your belt, putting it where your hands have already trained to go for a reload.
Hopefully, we will be getting some of these pouches to test in the near future. I want to see if the system works as well as it looks like it should.

It works great, I carry one on my belt. I have to carry it horizontally, and my pistol mags are vertical. I carry a 10 rounder on the belt, not a full 30 otherwise it sticks out too far and gets in the way. my rifle bandoleer has my spare 30 rounds if i know I’m going in for a long fight, I keep that with my rifle bag.

Andy,
Thanks for sharing your experiences with the mag pouch. I met the guys from Center Mass at the 2010 SHOT Show and was impressed by their product and professionalism. They really seemed like they know the business and want to take care of the customers.
Stay safe!

I have been using one for the last 60 days or so. I echo Andy’s comment about using a 20 round mag – 30′s are just to tall even if you have no extra padding on your stomach. There is a noticeable weight addition to the duty belt and my handgun mags stick out enough to hamper, but no elimitate my ability to bend over to to the ground. I carry both the mag pouch and duty mags in a vertical position. So far the jury is out. It seems well built and I like the idea of having the extra ammo close. So far, I have been carrying my extra mag all the time, but may switch to leaving the extra mag in the hard case with my rifle and just grab it when I deploy the rifle. I know it’s one more thing to remember to do, but there is a trade off of not carrying that extra weight on my belt, which is heavy enough.
