Off Duty Officer Shoots Attacker to Defend Self, Daughter

By Richard

An off-duty officer and his daughter were attacked as they left a California restaurant.  It seems the attack was rather vicious as the officer was treated at a hospital for facial injuries and possible broken bones.  The officer was forced to shoot his attacker.

Fortunately the officer was carrying a firearm, something I have written about many times.  Because of his choice to carry a firearm, the officer’s daughter was unharmed and the officer will be around to enjoy her childhood.

I always carry off-duty for this very reason. As Lt. Col. Dave Grossman says, “if you’re not carrying off-duty then get used to saying, baaaaa” (as in the sheep you have made yourself instead of the sheepdog)! Thankfully this cop was prepared and came out victorious.

I really would like to have the same possibility to defend myself and my family in the same way that the officer did. unfortunately in California only LEO and rich people are allowed to carry a gun. California lawmakers want the law abiding citizens be sheeps in the hands of wolves.

Hi Mauro,

I too wish the citizens of California had “shall issue” laws in place. Keep fighting for them!
