So after defending the SERPA holster yesterday, I find that BLACKHAWK! issued a recall for the the light-bearing duty holsters. Of course the two issues are completely different, yet the timing is a bit uncomfortable.
If you have a BLACKHAWK! SERPA light bearing duty holster you need to go to BLACKHAWK!’s web site and read the details. If you have any other SERPA, including non-light bearing duty holsters, the recall does not affect you.

We’ve checked dozens of our holsters and so far only two needed replacement. Those were from officers tightening the screws too tightly. Apparently that design has been changed to prevent that from happening.
None of my personal Serpa holsters needed replacement. Looks to be a pretty limited issue.
