RIP to US Navy SEAL Chris Kyle who appears to have been murdered in Texas today. Short story is we don’t know much yet, but the Erath County Sheriff’s Department appears to have confirmed Kyle’s death and that a man has been taken into custody. A second, unidentified man was found dead with Kyle.
RIP to this brave warrior.

About a year and a half ago I had the privilege to send one of my snipers to Kyle’s training center (Craft International) to receive sniper instructor certification. He came back with high praises, saying that Kyle was very genuinely involved in trying to increase the students’ skills and then be able to teach others the same.
Having received a year’s worth of that training from our instructor I can attest to the increased ability of all our snipers, and a much higher feeling of comprehension into the finer arts that make up the sniper calling.
He likened Chris as a mentor, and not just a business guy selling a class. He has taken this loss hard like many of us have. Chris was a true hero, not just in word, but in many deeds as well. His devotion to country can not be overstated and will always be remembered. But his devotion to family and friends, students, and military members needing help will be a benchmark for others to follow despite this tragedy.
