In a high-stress situation, vision is one of the first things impaired by the sympathetic nervous system discharge. Add in lack of time to analyze the object, low light, etc. and it is a recipe for disaster. Of course, when someone gets shot with this thing, everyone will wonder why the cops killed some ‘innocent’ person who was just trying to surf the ‘net.
I’m not about to suggest a government ban on such things, but common sense should dictate to leave such things at home.

I’m not one who ever recommends that the government regulate the design, making or use of such things. However, there is a sharp learning curve associated with the use of these types of items. In general, I find that it is anti-gun or otherwise disarmed people who have a near fetish with firearms that want to use such items. It’s kind of sad.
These kinds of items make the job of a police officer more difficult. God forbid a cop shoot some idiot with one of these. It will be the insane ramblings of the internet crowd talking about the “trigger happy cop” for weeks. Of course, none of these self-proclaimed internet experts have ever done the job and understand how quickly things happen or how the brain works in stressful circumstances.
If you want to see the opposite of this foolish item, click here to see actual weapons that are disguised as ordinary items.
I’m sure the person who created this is a nice guy, but it does demonstrate a serious lack of common sense if you ask me. I really hope no one is making and using these.
