As many of you know, your not-so-humble publisher (me) is a full-time cop in the central Florida area. In addition to all of the typical shootings, kidnappings and general thuggery we encounter nightly, we’ve got the Republican National Convention rolling into town. While being a politician may, or may not, count as “general thuggery,” the event is certainly bringing with it a hardcore group of anarchists and other non-peaceful protesters.
All of the law enforcement agencies in the area have been a little more busy lately: hoping for peace, but training up for violence should it be forced upon us.
Now, it looks like we may have a hurricane coming to visit the area at about the same time. This might be a good thing, but I imagine it is too late for the RNC to decide to pack up and go to Atlanta. So we might just be rioting in the rain instead of the sunshine. Fewer heatstrokes probably.
So, I am letting everyone know that articles may be a little scarce for the next week or so. I’m not anticipating being in the skirmish lines, but you never know where problems might pop up.
Once everything blows over, I’ll be back. I hope to tell you what a bore the whole thing was, but if it gets a little exciting, I will share that as well.
