Today is Industry Day at the Range, and the BlueSheepDog Crew just got back from the amazing Boulder City Rifle and Pistol Club range in the desert southeast of Las Vegas. Formerly known as the Media Day at the Range, this is where media types from all over the world can get up close and personal with the firearm manufactures latest productions. It is an honor to be invited (not all media make it to Range Day) and we promise to deliver more news on the biggest news of the year.
The former Media Day a the Range was actually totally independent of SHOT Show, but was tailored specifically to allow the firearms manufacturers attending SHOT Show. Firearms and Outdoor Gear manufacturers would have the opportunity to provide real experience on their latest products to the media. With the increasingly popular event, The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), who owns and runs SHOT Show, became the full-time sponsor of Media Day at the Range 2 years ago. The event continues to be owned and run by CMG Marketing & Events.
The Boulder City Rifle and Pistol Club range has an amazing assortment of ranges to provide all types of shooters enough room and distance to meet their needs. All told there are over 40 ranges in almost every shape and size. There are multiple ranges between 25 yards to 200 yards, and long-distance rifle range with at least 14 positions that reaches out to 1000 yards. There are 14 shotgun stations for stationary targets as well as skeet shooting. Other than being in a desert, this is a shooter’s dream.
Another great feature of the Boulder City Rifle and Pistol Club range is that most stations have covered areas to get into the shade. The one thing I do miss is the catered lunch, but the food trucks have actually offered some pretty good eating.
Keep reading! Richard and I are going to be working like rented mules all this week and for several weeks after to get out as much content as possible. Stay tuned for more great reading.
