Maglite has been a big name in law enforcement and first responder illumination for decades. I can still remember purchasing my first 3-D cell metal cased nearly 25 years ago, because that’s what all the cops were carrying. Things have changed quite a bit over the years, but the need for cops to have quality illumination devices has not. There might not be as many 3-D cell flashlights on the road anymore, but Maglite has continued to provide quality illumination devices.

Now, with the Mac-Tac LED the company is making a The Maglite Mag-Tac LED flashlight has received the coveted “National Tactical Officer Association Tested and Recommended” seal of approval. Maglite may have lost some ground over the years to other manufacturers making smaller and brighter lights patrol lights, but the Mag-Tac rechargeable light seems to make up in a big package.

Maglite has a non-rechargeable Mag-Tac option powered by (2) CR123 batteries. Lumen output is reduced to 320, but run time is increased to 4-hours on high. Weight is reduced to 4.8 oz. and there is a crowned and plain bezel option. In addition, the non-rechargeable Mag-Tac flashlights come in black, foliage green, urban gray, coyote tan, and crimson red options.
