New Peerless Superlite Handcuffs

By Aaron

Peerless® Handcuff Company was established in 1914 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Over 100 years later, the classic swing through design of the original Peerless® handcuff, continues to be a leading industry standard. Peerless handcuffs are one of the most popular brands of handcuffs used by American law enforcement today.

Now Peerless Handcuff Company is offering an incredibly lightweight set of handcuffs, in their latest Model 730C Superlite. Made of aerospace grade aluminum, the Model 730C Superlite handcuffs weigh just 5.2 ounces, or about half the weight of most traditional chain link handcuffs.

Handcuffs are a critical part of every law enforcement officer’s duty rig. I’ve been wearing two sets of handcuffs on my duty rig for nearly my entire career, and that arrangement has come in very handy on plenty of occasions. I also keep at least two more sets of handcuffs in my duty bag, and have had to dip into the “reserves” on several incidents.

However, with extra gear comes extra weight, and a duty belt that stretches the limits of comfort and practicality. The new Peerless Model 730C Superlite handcuffs can allow officers to carry two sets of handcuffs at the weight of only one. That is a huge advantage over other steel handcuffs, and the long-term effects on the officer’s back from carrying the extra weight.
