New Tru-Spec Urban Force TRU Clothing

Tru-Spec has offered some outstanding clothing for law enforcement, security, EMS, and military users and this year at SHOT Show they are introducing new items in their Urban Force TRU line. The Urban Force TRU line is targeted towards professionals who need clothing to meet the demanding environments and activities they face while in the line of duty. However, the Urban Force TRU pants also take into consideration casual off-duty wear as well. Moving away from traditional bulky pockets, large buttons, and trademark “fatigue” looks, the Urban Force TRU pants should provide users a multitude of wear options, both on and off-duty.

TRU-SPEC® has introduced their brand new Urban Force TRU, including the Uniform Shirt, Pant and Combat Shirt. This uniform was designed in conjunction with Law Enforcement Officers to encompass an approachable, yet tactical style. In essence, the Urban Force TRU appears casual enough to pass as comfortable wear, while still providing the fabric, cut, and pockets required of professional users.

Urban Force TRU Shirt

The Urban Force TRU Shirt comes with an adjustable hook and loop mandarin collar that can be worn either up or down. The shirt has a bi-swing back and a tapered body with a straight hem, allowing the shirt to be worn out or tucked in for a clean aesthetic appearance. The low-profile self-closure chest pockets have hidden drain holes on the elbows and utility hooks beside the pockets for accessories.

The mounting loops make mounting a low-profile police camera easy and unobtrusive to functionality and comfort. The sleeve pockets contain drain holes in the bellows, and include reinforced elbows with internal pockets. The Urban Force TRU Shirt is made with 65/35 PC RS.

The Urban Force TRU 1?4 Zip Combat Shirt has a 1?4 zip front mandarin collar with a covered hood for comfort. The contoured torso shape gives the user an athletic fit. There are mesh side panels allowing optimal ventilation to keep the wearer from excessive heat. The body of the 1/4 Zip Combat Shirt is constructed with dri release® fabric for superior wicking, fast drying, antimicrobial capabilities, while the sleeves take on the more traditional 65/35 PC RS.

Urban Force TRU Pant

The Urban Force TRU Pant is made with a comfort fit slider waistband and a gusseted crotch for optimal comfort. This style of cut and fit has become the norm in comfortable duty wear and are great additions to the Tru-Spec line. The Urban Force TRU Pants come with an amazing 12 pocket design

Pockets Include

  • Vertical side seam pockets that are incorporated into the extra deep front pockets,
  • Dual reinforced knife/utility pockets for added capability and safety
  • Cargo pockets with auto-closure flaps and drain holes on the bellows.

Taking into account the need for additional comfort for those working the streets, the Urban Force TRU Pant also comes with internal knee pockets for optional kneepads. This is a great feature not only for SWAT, but for every day patrol officers who often find themselves kneeling to search cars, check under items, and other actions. The Urban Force TRU Pants are made with 65/35 PC/RS.

Final Thoughts

I have been issued Tru-Spec uniform pants and shirts in the past, but found them to take after the bulky “fatigue” cut from yesteryear. These new Urban Force TRU designs appear to be well thought-out, comfortable, and addressing the real needs of professional users.

The Urban Force TRU pants could be worn off-duty as casual pants, and I really appreciate the 1/4 Zip Combat Shirt having comfortable and cooling wicking material for wearing under body armor.
