Mission First Tactical AR-Magazines

Mission First Tactical has made their name famous for developing several innovative firearm products, and one tongue-in-cheek trademark question, “Are you a M’Fer?” This year at SHOT Show Mission First Tactical announced they are now offering their very own AR-15 magazines. The first offerings will be their Standard Capacity Polymer Magazine (SCPM556) with a 30-round capacity, and their 10-round Polymer Magazine (10PM556).

Mission First Tactical AR-15 Magazine

The Mission First Tactical Standard Capacity Polymer Magazine, is engineered as an enhancement of the standard STANAG AR-magazine design. From a stippled texture on the side of the magazines, to the reduced profile front ribs, the MFT Standard Capacity Magazine provides the shooter a greater grip surface for withdrawing from pouches, loading, and stripping. The MFT magazines are designed for 5.56mm rifles, but function flawlessly in .223 Rem, and .300 AAC caliber platforms as well.

The Mission First Tactical magazines have a flared floor plate which provides an additional tactile advantage when extracting magazines, particularly during wet conditions where a shooter’s hand might slip even on textured sides. The flared floor plate also provides additional drop protection as well, without interfering with storing or stacking magazines in pouches.

The magazine’s double floor plate safety release tabs allow the shooter to safely release spring tension for magazine maintenance or quick ammo dumps. The same safety release tabs ensure that accidental ammo dumps do not occur. The oversized mag catch notch on the rear of the magazine, along with a self-lubricating four-way anti-tilt follower provide assured fit and function. 

These magazines appear to be high quality polymer magazines, with a similar appearance to the popular Troy Battlemags. However, the late entrance and higher MSRP of the MFT magazines than several other popular and successful polymer magazines (like Magpul), may make them more of a specialty item or MF’er favorite, rather than the new mainstream magazine choice.
